ROLE PURPOSE                         

The Aged Care Worker provides high-quality, person-centred support to clients in their homes, promoting independence, wellbeing, and community participation. The carer is responsible for delivering services based on the individual's identified needs and care plan, while providing companionship and emotional support. 

Key responsibilities and duties:

  • Personal care: Assist clients with daily personal care tasks, including showering, dressing, grooming, and personal hygiene.
  • Mobility assistance: Help clients with mobility, including transferring, walking, and using mobility aids to ensure safety.
  • Domestic assistance: Provide general household help, such as cleaning, laundry, vacuuming, and tidying the home.
  • Meal preparation: Plan and prepare nutritious meals and snacks that meet the client's dietary requirements.
  • Companionship and emotional support: Offer companionship, friendship, and emotional support to prevent social isolation and improve the client's quality of life.
  • Community and social support: Accompany clients on daily activities and social outings, such as shopping trips, errands, and appointments.
  • Medication support: Monitor and remind clients to take medications as prescribed and in line with their care plan.
  • Health and wellbeing monitoring: Observe and report any changes in a client's health, behaviour, or needs to the care manager or other healthcare professionals.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely care records and progress notes.
  • Ethical practice: Adhere to legal and ethical workplace practices, including maintaining client privacy and dignity.
  • Safety: Follow safe work practices and adhere to all work health and safety guidelines. 

 


Benefits

 REMUNERATION

  • Based on experience, for a 38-hour week, a full-time salary of $75,000 - $ 80,000 is being offered for this role.

Qualification & experience

REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing or Disability) or other relevant qualification in aged care, disability care, or home and community care.
  • Relevant work experience in a similar role may be considered in lieu of formal qualifications.
  • A current First Aid and CPR certificate.
  • A valid driver's license and reliable transport.
  • A satisfactory police check and Working with Children Check (or state equivalent), if required.
