<p><strong>Disabled Carer Required – Full Time - Ballarat VIC and surrounding areas</strong></p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>Riise Pty Ltd trading as RIISE Australia is seeking a caring, reliable and experienced full-time Aged or Disabled Carer to join its disability support team in the Ballarat region.</p><p>RIISE Australia is an NDIS disability support provider delivering person-centred care and support to NDIS participants across supported independent living, daily personal activities, community participation, travel and transport, household tasks, short and medium term accommodation and high-intensity personal daily activity support.</p><p>The successful applicant will provide direct person-centred support to people with disability who require assistance with daily living, personal care, mobility, household tasks, social participation, emotional wellbeing and community access. The role is focused on improving client independence, dignity, safety, inclusion and quality of life.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Location:</strong> Ballarat VIC and surrounding areas, including applicant will be responsible for performing duties including:</p><ul><li>Providing person-centred care and support to NDIS participants in accordance with individual support plans, care needs and workplace procedures.</li><li>Supporting participants with daily living activities in supported accommodation, home and community settings.</li><li>Assisting participants with personal hygiene, grooming, showering, dressing, toileting and maintaining personal appearance where required.</li><li>Assisting participants with mobility, transfers, positioning, walking and safe movement in accordance with manual handling procedures.</li><li>Providing companionship, friendship, respectful communication and emotional support.</li><li>Supporting participants to build independence, confidence, daily routines, life skills and social participation.</li><li>Preparing meals, snacks and drinks for participants in accordance with dietary needs, preferences and support plans.</li><li>Assisting with household tasks, including cleaning, laundry, tidying, meal preparation and maintaining a safe living environment.</li><li>Supporting participants to attend appointments, education, work, community activities, shopping, errands and social outings.</li><li>Assisting with travel and transport where required, including community access and attendance at appointments.</li><li>Arranging and supporting recreational, social and community participation activities.</li><li>Observing and reporting changes in participant health, behaviour, mobility, wellbeing, risks or support needs.</li><li>Supporting participants with behaviour support strategies where required and in accordance with approved support plans.</li><li>Assisting with medication-related support only where trained, authorised and permitted under workplace procedures.</li><li>Assisting with high-intensity personal daily activity support only where appropriately trained, competent, authorised and supervised.</li><li>Following infection control, manual handling, food safety, medication support, incident reporting and workplace health and safety requirements.</li><li>Maintaining accurate records of support provided, participant observations, incidents, progress notes and relevant communication.</li><li>Working respectfully with participants, families, guardians, supervisors, support coordinators and other care professionals.</li><li>Promoting participant dignity, privacy, choice, independence, safety and community inclusion at all times.</li></ul><br><h3>Qualification & experience</h3><p>The successful applicant must have:</p><ul><li>At least 1 year of full-time equivalent experience in disability support, aged care, personal care, home care, community care or a closely related care role.</li><li>Relevant qualification in Individual Support, Disability, Aged Care, Community Services or a related discipline will be highly regarded.</li><li>Experience supporting people with disability or older people with daily living, personal care, mobility, household tasks and community participation.</li><li>Understanding of person-centred care, dignity, privacy, choice, independence and social inclusion.</li><li>Ability to provide respectful personal care and emotional support.</li><li>Knowledge of safe manual handling, infection control and workplace health and safety procedures.</li><li>Ability to follow care plans, support plans, behaviour support strategies and workplace policies.</li><li>Ability to work independently and as part of a care team in supported accommodation and community settings.</li><li>Good communication, reliability, patience, empathy and interpersonal skills.</li><li>Ability to maintain accurate records and report participant-related changes or incidents appropriately.</li><li>Flexibility to work across rostered shifts, including weekdays, weekends, evenings, sleepover shifts, active night shifts and public holidays as required.</li></ul><h2>Required checks and licences</h2><p>The successful applicant may be required to hold or obtain:</p><ul><li>NDIS Worker Screening Check.</li><li>National Police Check.</li><li>Working with Children Check.</li><li>Current First Aid and CPR certificate.</li><li>Current Australian driver licence, where transport or
